1.Will my foreign diplomas and studies be recognized and accepted in the United States?

Answer: YES. The United States is very generous in recognizing and accepting foreign diplomas and foreign studies from all countries. You will be able to use your foreign educational evaluations of diplomas and courses from AICE foreign credential evaluation services the same as and equal to U.S. diplomas and transcripts issued by U.S. schools, colleges and universities.

2. Does the U.S. Government evaluate foreign diplomas and transcripts for U.S. equivalents?

Answer: NO. The U.S. Government will refer you to members of outside, professional foreign credential evaluation organizations such as AICE.

3. Are AICE foreign credential evaluation services recognized by the U.S. Government?

Answer: YES. AICE foreign credential evaluation services are linked through AICE to the U.S. Department of Education website.

4. Is TRANSLATION the same as EVALUATION of foreign education?

Answer: No, translation and foreign credential evaluation are two separate processes: Translation consists of putting all of the words in your documents into English. Evaluation of foreign diplomas and studies depends on the translations of your documents and consists of establishing what your foreign educational credentials are equivalent to in the United States, which can include your foreign diplomas, courses, grades, and any other international academic credentials. AICE foreign credential evaluation services´ evaluations can be used for further education, immigration, employment and licensing purposes, among others. A Translation is required to do a foreign educational credential evaluation. You will need to ask your AICE foreign credential evaluation service for a list of reputable translation agencies that specialize in foreign academic diplomas and studies. Some AICE foreign credential evaluation services also specialize in the translation, as well as evaluation, of foreign educational credentials.

5. How do I select a company to evaluate my credentials?

Answer: Refer to the list of members in the Membership Directory and contact any one of the agencies for assistance.
